Starz Digital Media revolutionary new project, “The Resistance” comes to life on Monday, October 4.

“The Resistance,” a science fiction action thriller, premieres on the SyFy October 4th 11:00pm ET/PT. In partnership with Starz Digital Media, series creator Adrian Picardi was able to take what was originally envisioned as a web-series and transformed it into a multi-platform launch. The Resistance was discovered by Aaron Lam of Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures in 2008 when he found trailers of the then unproduced show on YouTube. Starz Media saw potential in the series and cleared the funding for the then 21-year-old Picardi to make 35 minutes, or the first installment.

The new poll is posted, Favorite Monopoly piece. We’ve picked the classics to choose from. You might remember some different ones, like the money bag or the wheelbarrow, but since I only have 8 spaces, I picked the ones that appeared for the longest. You might notice the money bag or wheelbarrow missing. Our set as kids didn’t have the money bag, but we did have the wheelbarrow.
Time for this week’s poll results. Most everyone encounters stoplight, but have you stopped to think much about them? Like at Christmas time, they use traditional Christmas colors? Or your favorite color? And is that your favorite stoplight color because of what it does or means, or because of the color itself? And how did those colors get picked in the first place?

People ask me all the time what I do, and believe me it is difficult to describe. What is Belegarth you ask? Belegarth is a full contact medieval combat reenactment. It is difficult to label whether it is a sport or a game, as it contains elements of both. At its most simplistic, its core, it is paint ball with sticks. The game/sport is built around an honor system where the person being struck decides whether or not a “hit” was good enough. It allows bashing, grappling, full force swings and full field tactics with specialized individuals. Many of the tactics we use on the field are derived directly from American football. Just like any team, we have uniforms. Instead of t-shirts and jerseys, our uniforms are medieval armor, period clothing and matching heraldry. If you have ever fantasized about being a knight in shining armor, a Scottish barbarian, an elven archer or a rampaging orc… this is for you. Come out and give us a try, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Some Conspiracies are More Than Theories
From the Acclaimed Director of Ghost in the Shell, Stand Alone Complex
Eden of the East
Akira Takizawa wakes up naked outside the White House with no memories. He’s got a gun in one hand, a cell phone in the other, and doesn’t know if he’s a good guy or one of the worst. He doesn’t remember the phone gives him instant access to ten billion yen and a woman who can make his most outlandish requests a reality. He doesn’t recall his connection to the ongoing missile attacks terrorizing the Japanese people. Or the part he played in the sudden disappearance of 20,000 shut-ins. He doesn’t even remember he’s supposed to save Japan and will be murdered if he fails. Whatever it is he’s tangled up in, Takizawa’s definitely in deep – and that’s not even scratching the surface.
