Aniplex of America has officially registered the Madoka Magica USA domain as of June 9th. The American branch of Aniplex Japan, itself owned by Sony Corp previously confirmed that it was in negotiations for the deconstruction of the magical girl genre during previous panels at various conventions during the year. The show finished its run in April after being delayed due to the Tohoku earthquake in March. Registration of the domain does not exactly confirm the acquisition of the license, though Aniplex usually registers domains for shows it plans to release on its own rather than relying on a sublicensor such as Funimation, Bandai or Sentai Filmworks.
