Synopsis:

Human cloning is not only possible, but practiced in the world of Afterschool Charisma. Shirou Kamiya is the only student there who is not a clone, having been the son of one of the scientists involved in the project and the school. Afterschool Charisma is a school life drama, but also a look into the ethics of cloning, humanity and one’s destiny in life.

The studio Kyoto Animation opened a website for its Hyoka television anime series and revealed the anime’s main staff and a piece of key visual art. The studio is adapting Honobu Yonezawa’s adolescent mystery novel of the same name.

Shoji Gatoh, the author best known for the Full Metal Panic! light novel series, is in charge of the series scripts. Gatoh was also in charge of the scripts for the various Full Metal Panic! anime, as well as for The Tower of Druaga: the Aegis of Uruk and The Tower of Druaga: the Sword of Uruk sequel. He wrote scripts for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star.

The live-action Ouran High School Host Club television series and film will receive a mobile phone drama spinoff. The spinoff, titled Ouran High School Host Club ~Haruhi no Happy Birthday Daisakusen~, will feature an original story written by the manga’s creator Bisco Hatori.

The four-episode drama will begin its broadcast on January 6. Haruna Kawaguchi (Yankee-kun to Megane-chan, Moshidora) will reprise her role as Haruhi Fujioka. Each episode will be five minutes long. The drama will revolve around the host club members becoming flustered upon learning that it is Haruhi’s birthday. Through their misunderstandings about celebrating her birthday, the members make Haruhi angry. The drama will be available on au mobile phones and through the Lismo Drama website.
