Due to a scheduling conflict with The Fantasy Shop, I’ve had to delay our June event until July 16.  We will have two events in July on consecutive weekends.  Start spreading the word.  Our biggest event of the year The Fant-Asia St. Louis 14th Anniversary will be Saturday, July 23 at The Fantasy Shop St. Charles, 2426 West Clay from 11:00am-midnight
Schedule TBA
Two weeks ago, I made my first ever visit to Animeggroll, St. Louis’ first all anime store, in the Crestwood Court.  Any anime fan in the area definitely needs to check out their great selection of products including DVDs, manga, toys, plushies, snacks, classic video gaming, and even a few laserdiscs for good measure; in addition, they also host monthly anime events.  Their next event is Saturday, May 21 and makes a great substitute for people who can’t make it to Anime Central next weekend.

Anime Central, the Midwest’s largest anime convention, is next weekend May 20-22 in Chicago at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.

Belegarth

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

People ask me all the time what I do, and believe me it is difficult to describe. What is Belegarth you ask? Belegarth is a full contact medieval combat reenactment. It is difficult to label whether it is a sport or a game, as it contains elements of both. At its most simplistic, its core, it is paint ball with sticks. The game/sport is built around an honor system where the person being struck decides whether or not a “hit” was good enough. It allows bashing, grappling, full force swings and full field tactics with specialized individuals. Many of the tactics we use on the field are derived directly from American football. Just like any team, we have uniforms. Instead of t-shirts and jerseys, our uniforms are medieval armor, period clothing and matching heraldry. If you have ever fantasized about being a knight in shining armor, a Scottish barbarian, an elven archer or a rampaging orc… this is for you. Come out and give us a try, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
