Reading a book with an action sequence is never quite as good as watching a movie or playing a game with such. There is a level that fully animated sequences add that cannot be done justice. However, sometimes for comics and manga there are titles that can still pull of great moments and let the reader fill in the rest. Tenjo Tenge is a good example of this.
