What is there to a great romance story without a bit of rivalry or circumstances to keep the lovers apart? There isn’t much of a story if the couple are happy together with nothing standing in their way. That’s a great ending, or a beginning, but not really enough to make a story. Some tension is necessary to make things compelling.

Funny how coincidences seem to stack up. In addition to being written by the same author as Chibi Vampire, Aion, like Chibi Vampire, came with a name change. For those of you who didn’t (or even did) know Chibi Vampire was released in Japan with the Japanese title that translates to Karin; Aion‘s title in Japan translates to the Blue Sea of Aion. A bit closer, but still not the same. What does this have to do with the story? Nothing, except if see it by another name, Hekikai no Aion, you’ll know its the same thing.
