News: Nico Nico Douga to Stream the TV Anime “Black Rock Shooter” Worldwide with 8 Language Subtitles on February 3, 2012
Tokyo – Dwango Co. announced that its video-sharing service Nico Nico Douga will be streaming the brand new TV anime series “Black Rock Shooter” with eight language subtitles on February 3 immediately following its premiering in Fuji TV on February 2.
This is the first time that “Black Rock Shooter” will be streamed for fans outside Japan. Anyone who has an account with Nico Nico Douga can post their comments on its live video in various languages. While language will be set automatically based on the language of your browser, you can also select a language of your choice from the menu. Each episode will be exclusively streamed for a week.

“Black Rock Shooter” originates in a character illustration titled “Black Rock Shooter” created by the artist Huke, who posted it on his blog in 2007. The artist Ryo of Supercell who was inspired by the illustration created the song based on the characters using the Vocaloid. Then the two artists collaborated to make the music video of the song, which was posted on Nico Nico Douga in 2008, and it got a great response. This eventually led to the world wide popularity.
