Over the past decade, the print magazine gave way to other endeavors, but I am excited that through a new partnership with our friends at GeekChicDaily, the original TOKYOPOP magazine concept can be revived and refreshed – rebooted actually – in a much more modern, exciting, and accessible format.” – Stu Levy, founder of TOKYOPOP. Funny how coincidences seem to stack up. In addition to being written by the same author as Chibi Vampire, Aion, like Chibi Vampire, came with a name change. For those of you who didn’t (or even did) know Chibi Vampire was released in Japan with the Japanese title that translates to Karin; Aion‘s title in Japan translates to the Blue Sea of Aion. A bit closer, but still not the same. What does this have to do with the story? Nothing, except if see it by another name, Hekikai no Aion, you’ll know its the same thing.
